Churches Together in Mitcham
This group is made up of churches working together in Mitcham across the denominations. It is open to new churches to join who have a heart and mind to work together where their beliefs and practices allow.
Traditionally, this Group have collectively been responsible for the annual service of Christian unity in January, joint Lent Meetings, a corporate act of worship on Good Friday at the Fare Green, and Christmas carols at the Clock Tower. More recently it has supported a Christmas Day lunch for those who would normally be on their own.
A churches together monthly Friday night Prayer Group has recently started, and this has drawn some churches together that are not yet part of the official CTIM group. The hope is to build stronger relationships between all the churches during 2010.
The Jeremiah Project and 'LOVE Mitcham' campaign is designed to be owned and representative of the whole Church in Mitcham, serving the community in social action initiatives, practically and spiritually towards community transformation.
